Reconstruction of junction at Abisko Östra and Nuolja E10

The reconstruction of the junction at Abisko Östra and Nuolja along the E10 aimed to improve road safety and increase accessibility. The work included the installation of a new 1000 mm culvert under the E10 for better drainage, the extension of bus stops for increased traveller comfort, the upgrading of the water supply system, and the installation of traffic information signs.

The project was successfully implemented and resulted in significantly improved road safety, more efficient water drainage, and a modernised public transport infrastructure. The upgraded infrastructure now contributes to a safer and more efficient traffic environment for both local residents and visitors to the area. The work was carried out and included:

• Installation of a new 1000 mm culvert under the E10, This measure was central to improving drainage and reducing the risk of flooding during heavy rainfall and spring floods.
• The bus stops along the intersection were extended and modernised to increase accessibility and comfort for travellers, with particular attention to people with disabilities.
• The water and sewerage system in the area was improved by installing new pipes and reinforcing existing infrastructure, ensuring long-term functionality.
• New signs were installed to provide real-time information to road users, helping to improve safety and efficiency in traffic flow.
