Install supports Ukraine through refurbishment of backup power plants
Install has been honourably commissioned by Svenska kraftnät to participate in the support to Ukraine by refurbishing diesel backup power plants. As part of Sweden's aid efforts, 13 backup power plants will be sent to Ukraine to strengthen the country's energy supply.
This decision is a direct action and not part of a larger package, according to Sweden's Energy Minister Ebba Busch (KD). The decision was taken after Svenska kraftnät contacted the government, resulting in the third shipment of backup power plants now being prepared for delivery to Ukraine.
The back-up power plants supplied to Ukraine are particularly important for maintaining critical societal functions such as hospitals, water treatment plants, and communication systems. By providing a reliable source of energy, these facilities can continue to operate even during times when the regular electricity grid is unavailable. This is crucial to reduce humanitarian distress and to maintain social order in vulnerable areas.
"It is a great honour that we, with our experience and expertise in the energy and power sector, have the opportunity to contribute to Ukraine's struggle to maintain critical societal functions by delivering and refurbishing backup power plants. It feels incredibly meaningful to know that our work can make such a tangible difference in people's lives, especially in such a difficult and vulnerable situation as Ukraine is in."
